Among the titles getting early buzz, including some that have already made a splash in their home market, are a new novel by Orhan Pamuk, two celebrity bios and a yet-to-be-titled book by the author of "The Devil Wears Prada".
"Human of New York: Stories" by Brandon Stanton
The photographer and blogger follows up his best-selling book "Humans of New York" with this title, out in the US this month. Rights have been sold in the UK, Germany, Turkey and Thailand, according to Publisher's Weekly, which surveyed US literary agencies to get a sense of their hottest offerings.
Lauren Weisberger: Title TBA
The yet-to-be-titled next novel from the author of "The Devil Wears Prada" is due out next summer in the US and will be the first in a series set in the world of tennis. Rights have so far sold in the UK.
Cindy Crawford: "Becoming"
Released last month in the US, Cindy Crawford's autobiography may soon be available in more international markets. It spans her career and includes unpublished images from her personal archive.
Padma Lakshmi: "Love, Loss and What We Ate"
The US "Top Chef" host tells her story, from her childhood as an immigrant to her life in front of the camera. A US release is set for March.
Orhan Pamuk: "The Red-Haired Woman"
The Turkish author's tenth novel tells the story of a well-digger and his apprentice; rights have been sold in Turkey so far.
Garth Risk Hallberg: "City on Fire"
Buzz is high for this New York City-set novel, which released this month in the US to stellar reviews. Rights have been sold in 16 countries, including Brazil, the UK, France and Germany.
Sunjeev Sahota: "The Year of the Runaways"
This Man Booker-shortlisted novel is one of the key titles being brought to fair by UK agents, according to The Bookseller. It follows 13 young Indian men who live in a house in Sheffield, where they've each come in search of a new life.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is the largest international event of its kind, welcoming 250,000 visitors annually and serving as the principal international venue for the negotiating of literary rights and licensing.
