Can we trust the Election Commission (EC) to clean the electoral rolls of dead people and phantom voters themselves? After all, they botched up on a simple thing like the indelible ink in Election 2013. What Malaysia needs is a body of eminent people to supervise and verify the list together with the National Registration Department. Or go for automatic registration. After all, we have a secure identification card system that cannot be copied or faked. We need to trust the EC is doing its job to ensure a clean and fair election. That can only happen if the EC shows it is serious about its job to handle the nation's trust.
