Thank you, Google

I apologise if I’m being personal by writing like this. I promise to make it short.

So, here goes:

Some weeks ago, I received an email from Google telling me  someone had recently used my password to try to sign in to my Google email account. The person, I was told, was using an application such as an email client or mobile  device .

Google told me it had prevented the sign in attempt “ in case this was a hijacker trying to access your account”.  Google then gave me details of the attempt, saying if I do not recognise it, someone was trying to break in – so to speak.

Needless to say, I did not recognise the details provided by (i.e. the sign in attempt) Google. Hence someone was indeed trying to access my email.

Thank God Google prevented the attempt. I dread imagining if the sign in had been successful.

For all you know, that someone could have written “nasty “ things and sent it to who knows who and who knows where. And I would have been in trouble. Deep trouble.

God forbid I would have been in great difficulty to prove I am not responsible for whatever rubbish that came out from my email.

What more with the Sedition Act very much in the picture .

Alhamdulillah – Google did what they did.

To Google, once again, I say thank you. A big thank you. – December 18, 2014.
