Shaharom however confirmed that the CEO of the bank was called to testify regarding corruption cases at the MACC office.

"The CEO of the bank was not arrested and not remanded. To the contrary, MACC has arrested three people, two bank officers and a middle man suspected of being involved in the cases.

"MACC called the bank's CEO to obtain information about the corruption cases," he said when contacted by Bernama today.

He was commenting on claims that a CEO was among three people arrested by MACC in connection with the cases.

It was reported yesterday that a 49-year-old bank employee was remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations by MACC into corruption cases worth millions of ringgit.

Prior to that, a 31-year-old bank employee and a 41-year-old civilian were also remanded for seven days.
