In a statement today, chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Harith Abdullah said the models involved were Proton Exora, Suprima S and Preve.

"We are communicating with our customers via short messaging system (SMS) blast and letters with regards to this matter.

"As this is a serviceable item, customers need not worry because when they send their cars for servicing, the oil cooler hose will be changed by the authorised service centres if the car has reached 40,000km," he said.

All labour and parts costs related to the issue will be provided at no charge at Proton's authorised service centres nationwide, it said.
